Minutes of Meeting

Date and Time:14/02/2019,10:00 am

Points Discussed:

  • Prof. M. M. Joshi, IQAC Coordinator started the meeting by welcoming all members of the IQAC Committee. Prof. M. M. Joshi introduced all the members and discussed the agenda of the meeting in brief.
  • The main agenda of the meeting was to take a review of academics, to reschedule teaching plan and college timing to cover the syllabus.
  • A review ofresults of SPPU May-June 2019 examination was taken.
  • One value addition program(VAP) per department is to beconducted in first semester of 2019-20 based on students expectations and Industry requirement.
  • Student Training Program (STP) conducts in every department on regular basis and maintain its record.
  • All the HoDs were informed to apply for AICTE approved STTPs and FDPs  and submit the hard copy of it in office.
  • Arrange one National / international level conference, STTP and webinars in department leval.
  • Arrange guest lectures and industrial expert talk in every department.
  • A review of placement is taken and suggestion is given to placement officer for the improvement.
  • Dr. M.S. Gaikwad highlighted the importance of Internship in professional courses. Both, Dr. M.S. Gaikwad and Dr. S.D. Lokhande guided all the HoDs for increasing the internship, sponsored projects and guided the faculty for finding the industry problems.
  • Dr. M.S. Gaikwad and Dr. S.D. Markande discussed the importance of  Industryintraction.

 

At the end, Dr. S. P.Patil presented the Vote of Thanks, thanking each & every member of the Committee for sparing their valuable time and contribution to the meeting.

 

IQAC Meeting2 - Academic Year 2019-20

Minutes of Meeting

Points Discussed:

A secondmeeting of IQAC members of NBNSTIC was conducted on 21stMay 2019 from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm.In this meeting, some important points were discussed like academics, teaching–learning process and the overall development of students as well as teachers. ollowing activities were suggested by the committee members:

  1. Take feedback of students regarding teaching-learning process and overall facility provided by the college. Maintain record of feedback & take appropriate action.
  2. Take feedback from alumni, parents and all the stake holders.
  3. A review of Student Training Program(STP) is taken and how this training is useful for the enhancement of placement.
  4. On which topic the National / international level conference
  5. For the students arrange the Industry-Institute Interaction programs, and Guest lectures.
  6. Faculty should increase interaction with the Industries for placement, internship and sponsored projects point of view.
  7. Dr. M.S. Gaikwad and Dr. S.D. Lokhande said that after NAAC, college should start the preparation for  NBA.
  8. To increase contribution in research, faculty members must be encouraged to apply for Government funded research projects, to attend FDPs and to start Ph.D. work.
  9. Program objectives and outcomes, and course objectives and outcomes to be modified with respect to revision in syllabus and industry expectations.

10.  Dr. S. D. Markande suggested to take a feedback about SPPU Question Papers based on the reasons for not attempting or partially attempting a particular question. The work of setting this feedback form was assigned to Prof. M.M. Joshi

IQAC Meeting 3

Minutes of Meeting

Date and Time: 10/01/2020, 3:30 pm

Venue: NBNSSOE Board Room

A 3rdmeeting of IQAC members of NBNSTIC was conducted on 15thSept 2019 from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm in Board Roomfrom1.30 pm to 3.30 pm in Board Room. Prof. M.M Joshi, IQAC coordinator read the action plan set in the second meeting of  IQAC and conveyed the attainment of activities planned through the presentation. Following points were discussed/ finalized in the meeting:

  1. A review of Value Addition Program (VAP) and Student training program (STP) is taken.
  2. The main agenda of the meeting was to take a review results analysis of Nov-Dec 2019 examination, academics, to reschedule teaching plan and college timing to cover the syllabus.
  3. Institute must take some measures to help the students in Research paper writing and also some guest lectures on copyright, patent, trademark etc. could be a great value-addition for them.Prof. M. M. Joshi & other HODs clarified that Research paper writing is already included in STP4 (Student Training Program). It was decided that this activity shall further be enhanced.
  4. Industries expert suggested that the studies must be more deterministic oriented,and soft skills training for students must be treated with utmost importance.
  1. Proper planning and formulation of COs &POs was appreciated by IQAC.
  1. The result analysis, feedback analysis, revised Course and Program objectives and outcomes based on Bloom’s Taxonomy of all the departments were discussed in detail in meeting.
  2. The course files, attendance books, continuous assessment, Teacher Guardian meeting records, SPPU results and Internal test results were checked by Dr. M.S. Gaikwad and Dr. S.D. Lokhande and the guidelines were given to the faculty wherever required.
  3. All the points of Part A and Part B of AQAR to be submitted to NAAC were discussed in detail and the responsibility of compilation of data and p    roofs -criterion wise,was assigned to the Heads of  departments as follows:

-          Continuation of imparted grade by NAAC is a challenge and the Institute must take efforts to maintain its B++ grade. He emphasized that IQAC quarterly meeting and yearly report to be submitted to NAAC is very important for this continuation. He also noted that there could be a surprise visit of NAAC members as well.

Due to pandemic situation number of activities are not conducted. The state and central government has taken the various decision to conduct the classes, examinations and other activites.

Points Discussed:

▪Reviews of the last IQAC meetings and progress regarding various enlisted activities was taken.

▪Dr.S. D. Markande, Principal, welcomed all the committee members for the meeting.

▪Prof.ManojM.Joshi gave presentation based on the activities which took place during the semester.

  1. Arrange  the online seminars, workshops, competitions and conference in every department.
  2. Conduct the online classes and practicalsfor SE, TE and BE students.
  3. A review of all academic activities is taken.
  4. It was decided to continue and make more effective the students online attendance monitoring for the next semester.
  5. Prof.D.H.Burande shared and discussed various online attendance formats for monitoring and maintaining students attendance across all the departments.It was decided that all the department heads will attend the meeting which will be conducted regarding the newly created online attendance system.
  6. Directors Dr. M.S. Gaikwad and Dr. S.D. Lokhandeemphasized on completion of NPTEL courses by Teachers to improve upon TLP(Teaching Learning Practices).
  7. Principal, Dr.S.D.Markande, guided all to take the feedback from stakeholders in Google form.
  8. Director (Academics), Dr. S.D. Lokhande, addressed all and advised all to attend online workshops, seminars, conferences, publish research papers in journals to upgrade the knowledge along with regular teaching work.

Points Discussed:

  • Dr. V. S. Deshpande, IQAC Coordinator started the meeting by welcoming all members of the IQAC Committee. Dr. Deshpande introduced all the members and discussed the agenda of the meeting in brief.
  • The main agenda of the meeting was to take a review of academics, to reschedule teaching plan and college timing to cover the syllabus.
  • A review of syllabus covered and results of SPPU Nov-Dec 2017 examination was taken.
  • Committee members suggested following points to complete the syllabus–
    • To conduct classes on all Saturdays and holidays except Sundays.
    • To extend term till 30th April 2018.
    • To extend college timing till 6.00 pm.
  • Committee members rescheduled Prelim Exam (from 20th April 2018 to 24th April 2018) and Mock Practical/ Oral exam in last week of April.
  • It was decided to conduct NEON and TECHTONIC for Vadgaon and Ambegaon campus on any one Sunday of April and pay more attention towards academics.
  • All the HoDs were informed to apply for AICTE approved STTPs and FDPs  and submit the hard copy of it in office to Mr. Satish Kale.
  • Prof. Bhat highlighted the importance of Internship in professional courses. Both, Prof. Bhat and Prof. Pharkute guided all the HoDs for increasing the internship.
  • Dr. Y. P. Reddy and Dr. S.D. Markande discussed the importance of  Industry sponsored projects and guided the faculty for finding the industry problems.

Date and Time: 28/06/2018, 10:30 am

Points Discussed:

A secondmeeting of IQAC members of NBNSTIC was conducted on 28th June 2018 from 10.30 am to 11.30 am in Board Room to set the action plan for the improvement in academics, teaching–learning process and the overall development of students as well as teachers in the upcoming semester. Followingpolicies and strategies were set for the first semester of academic year 2018-19.Following activities were suggested by the committee members:

  1. One value addition program(VAP) per department is to beconducted in first semester of 2018-19 based on students’ expectations and Industry requirement.
  2. The count of Industry sponsored projects is to be increased by increasing Industry Institute Interaction.
  3. Department should organize minimum three Guest lectures per semester.
  4. To expose students to the Industry environment, maximum possible Industrial visits should be arranged.
  5. Faculty should increase interaction with the Industries from placement, internship and sponsored projects point of view.
  6. Prof. M. G. Bhat and Prof. Pharkutesaid that after NAAC, college should start the preparation for  NBA.
  7. To increase contribution in research, faculty members must be encouraged to apply for Government funded research projects, to attend FDPs and to start Ph.D. work.
  8. Program objectives and outcomes, and course objectives and outcomes to be modified with respect to revision in syllabus and industry expectations.
  9. Everyone agreed to form study forum department wise. It was decided to conduct minimum one activity under study forum in first semester of 2018-19 and three activities in second term of 2018-19.

10.  It was decided to set a common format for the stakeholder’s feedback forms. The work for setting new feedback forms for alumni, Industry Experts, Employer, Internship provider, parents and students was distributed among various departments. It was unanimously decided to finalize the draft of these forms by 25th August 2018.

11.  It was also decided to take an anonymous feedback about a subject teacher from students, two times in a semester.

12.  Dr. Y. P. Reddy suggested to take a feedback about SPPU Question Papers based on the reasons for not attempting or partially attempting a particular question. The work of setting this feedback form was assigned to Mrs. P. P. Kulkarni.

13.  Dr. Y. P. Reddy and Dr. S. D. Markande explained the calculations for the analysis of feedback and corrective action to be taken in next semester.

IQAC Meeting 4

Minutes of Meeting

Date and Time:    Wednesday, 17-Oct-2018, 03:00 pm.

Venue:                  NBNSSOE Board Room

Points Discussed:

  • Prof. PoojaKulkarni, IQAC Coordinator initiated the meeting by welcoming all members of the IQAC Committee and introduced the members.Dr. Y. P. Reddy and Dr. S. D. Markande felicitated the member representatives.
  • After felicitation of the member representatives, Dr.Y. P. Reddy, Principal/Director made a power point presentation to the Committee briefing all about the current status of the Institute which included details onTeaching – Learning process, Initiatives for outcome based evaluation, Placements, MoUs signed, Student Internship, Feedback mechanism and other relevant points.
  • In the context of plannedquestion paper feedback mechanism, Mr.VijaykumarRamchandran suggested that the feedback form can be designed using drop-down box, giving various options to specify the students’ feedback.
  • Furthering to this, Mr.MaheshWashikar suggested that before taking the feedback, an interactive session could be conducted to explain the process to the students and making them aware of the importance of it.He also suggested that, Microsoft Outlook can be used for making the Minutes of the Meeting, To-do list etc. so as to make easy accessibility to all members of the Committee for efficient functioning.
  • Dr. S. D. Markande proposed that instead of Microsoft Outlook, OpenSource software can be used for the same purpose. Prof.AmolDhumane and Prof.ShivprasadPatil supported to it, by mentioning that such Apps are available or BE students can develop it.
  • Mr.Ramchandranenquired whether research is like a continuous education programme for faculty. Dr. Reddy explained that quality publications is mandatory as per AICTE and NAAC.Mr.VijaykumarRamchandran suggested that for good research, the faculty members could address one or two problems of the Industry by providing economical and viable solutions.
  • Both the student representatives were asked to express their views about the Institute. To which both student representatives expressed their satisfaction. Mr.RohitModak mentioned that they feel free to express themselves due to the transparent and free environment in the Institute. It was also mentioned by the students that Study Forums of the departments helped them in enhancing their performance. Mr.RohitModakgave an example of one of the student, Mr.AbhishekKulkarni, who got an opportunity to go to University of Westminster, London forinternship in the area of Cryptography.
  • Prof. PoojaKulkarni, brought to the notice of the Committee about the MoU signed by Electrical Department with MSEB, in which a problem was undertaken by 26 students for 15 days and a report of it was submitted to Hingane Sub-station.
  • When asked about his views, Mr.MaheshWashikar, alumni representative of the institute mentioned that, from his own experience, he asserts that the Institute’s objectives of building good persons and providing good placement has been very well achieved.He further mentioned that, companies are looking out for additional skills of learning in students which will enable them to solve problems. He further emphasized that the feedbacks will help students and faculty to identify their lacunas and help students realize what and how it will help them in future, which would be the success of IQAC.
  • Miss. ManaliDeshpande informed the Committee about CSI programs of the Institute which taught them about technology. Mr.RohitModak supported this point mentioning that due to CSI programs he got an idea for project based on hands-on session on IoT and he expressed his gratitude for the same.
  • Parent representative, Dr.CharusheelaBirajdar, expressed her satisfaction about the Institute’s working, making a mention of her son getting an opportunity to do his internship in Denmark due to the efforts of the Institute, which was a very good experience for him and has resulted in bringing about a positive change in his personality.
  • She made a suggestion that Institute must take some measures to help the students in Research paper writing and also some guest lectures on copyright, patent, trademark etc. could be a great value-addition for them.Prof. PoojaKulkarni& other HODs clarified that Research paper writing is already included in STP4 (Student Training Program). It was decided that this activity shall further be enhanced.
  • In addition to the above suggestion, Mr.MaheshWashikar suggested that the Institute could invite Alumni who have done such publications for guest lectures, which will give the students a confidence that they can even do it. Mr.Rohit noted that through their department, they are already in touch with their seniors for such inputs, which is of great help.
  • Mr.VijayRamchandran suggested that the studies must be more deterministic oriented,and soft skills training for students must be treated with utmost importance.
  • Mr.MaheshWashikar expressed his view that students must be able to do Reverse Engineering, which will help them in solving problems in Industry.
  • Ms.Manali mentioned that Barclays Training Programme was very helpful for the students.
  • Dr.CharushilaBirajdar suggested that in addition to technical skills, students must be given training related to Emotional Intelligence etc. and alike. Prof.SharadSawant informed that seminars are already conducted for the same. Prof.PoojaKulkarniproposed that Counsellors could be appointed for the same.

 

  • To conclude, Prof. Bhat expressed his views –

-          Dr.Y. P. Reddy and his teamwas appreciated, for best IQAC presentation. He made a special mention of Dr. Reddy’s expertise in the area of Teaching-Learning Process.

-          Proper planning and formulation of COs &POs was appreciated by IQAC.

-          Quality depends on many things, of which faculty is primary. So efforts must be taken to improve Industry exposure for faculty. Faculty must be well-equipped to solve industry problems.

-          Institute could take certain steps to propose the University to make Implant Training mandatory for students.

-          Though Institute is doing good from the point of view of students, but he had some suggestions, that Institute must take more efforts for helping students in higher education and skill development. Incubation centre must be started.

-          Other than BCUD, agencies must be tapped for generating fundsfor R&D and Consultancy.

-          Institute must take measures to create its identification criteria (USP).

-          In next meeting of IQAC, the Committee would like to see data / results related to the planning discussed in today’s meeting and also attainment of POs.

 

  • Prof. S. B. Pharkute supplemented Prof. Bhatby expressing his views –

-          Continuation of imparted grade by NAAC is a challenge and the Institute must take efforts to maintain its B++ grade. He emphasized that IQAC quarterly meeting and yearly report to be submitted to NAAC is very important for this continuation. He also noted that there could be a surprise visit of NAAC members as well.

-          IQAC office can be set up for proper monitoring and implementation.

-          NBNSTIC Team was congratulated  for giving around 10 rankers at SPPU level.

-          Small incremental changes in all areas in coming years could lead to overall progress of the Institute. So all concerned must analyze for this year and plan for the next year. Every faculty must be given certain tasks to do for the next year and they must be made responsible for the fulfillment of the same.

-          Feedback from stakeholders could be taken for highlighting changes in syllabus. Moreover, employers’ feedback must also be taken. Dr. Y. P. Reddy noted that such feedback form has already been designed.

-          Institute must prepare itself for the year 2022 by keeping all proofs available as it would already be mentioned in the yearly report to NAAC. Quality of result must be improved. And more efforts must be taken for enabling students for higher education and self-employment.

 

  • At the end, Dr. S. D. Markande presented the Vote of Thanks, thanking each & every member of the Committee for their time and valuable contribution to the meeting.

 

Documentation for the next IQAC Meeting:

  • It was decided to continue and make more effective the students online attendance monitoring for the next semester
  • Semester – I course based students’ feedback shall be available with all faculty and Heads of Department. The suggestions of the students shall be part of the course file.
  • All the departments shall ensure that University question paper based feedback will be carried out in the month of December 2018. Its analysis shall also be part of the course file.
  • Efforts shall be made to enhance the students research paper writing skills

Academic Review: Prof.Manoj M.Joshi who was appointed as NAAC coordinator in place of Prof.Mrs.Pooja P.Kulkarni initiated the meeting. He started with the discussion in presence of Principal, Vice-Principal and all HoDs. Discussion was held on completion of syllabus for FE to BE subjects as well as practical assignments till 21st April 2018.In the last week of April, practical submission is to be scheduled departmentwise.The HoD’s are requested to display the complete schedule of term end activities of the department on student notice board.

It was decided that Prelim examination for 50 marks will start from 17/04/2018to 21/04/2018.

Academic feedback and group photo: It was discussed that the academic feedback is to be scheduled department wise. Farewell function for final year would be formal at the departmental level. The department wise group photo for magazine is tentatively planned on 20th April 2018, 3:00 pm onwards.

▪Principal, Dr.Y.P.Reddy, emphasized the need of Industry-Institute Interaction by promoting internships or In Plant training during vacation and a review was taken for  the various placements which took place.Dr.S.D.Markande discussed the importance of industry sponsored projects and guided the faculty for finding the industry problems.

A brief review of compilation of report for AQAR was taken by IQAC coordinator-Prof.Manoj M.Joshi and regarding Training and placement of students efforts made were presented by Mr.Abhishek Pandey-TPO.Following points were discussed:

A refresher course of Technical Skill like C, C++,JAVA and fundamentals of Database was conducted to prepare the students in time. A training was provided to final year students by Barclays. A training on soft skills was provided through STP 1 and STP 2 and technical interview guidance was provided through STP 3. Practice test facility from AMCAT exam point of view was provided. Employability tests and AMCAT exams were conducted to provide placement opportunity to students.

▪Finally, Prof.S.B.Pharkute, Director (Academics) suggested to maintain the records of all activities.

▪Reviews of the last IQAC meetings and progress regarding various enlisted activities was taken.

▪Dr.Y.P.Reddy, Principal, welcomed all the committee members for the meeting.

▪Prof.Manoj M.Joshi gave presentation based on the activities which took place during the semester.

▪Prof.D.H.Burande shared and discussed various online attendance formats for monitoring and maintaining students attendance across all the departments.It was decided that all the department heads will attend the meeting which will be conducted regarding the newly created online attendance system.

▪Discussion on online appraisal of teaching faculties was discussed by Principal, Dr.Y.P.Reddy.

▪Directors Prof.M.G.Bhat & Prof.S.B.Pharkaute emphasized on completion of NPTEL courses by Teachers to improve upon TLP(Teaching Learning Practices).

▪ Vice Principal, Dr.S.D.Markande, guided all to take the feedback from stakeholders in Google form.

It was decided to collect and to analyze the feedback received   from various stakeholders.

▪Principal discussed about the results of ASPIRE project proposals submitted to the SPPU.

▪Principal, Dr.Y.P.Reddy, asked all heads to involve students in research projects and also suggested to plan workshops, conferences in coming months.

▪Principal, Vice Principal and all the heads congratulated Prof.S.P.Patil and Prof.A.V.Dhumane for completing their Ph.D.

▪Director (Academics), Prof.S.B.Pharkute, addressed all and advised all to attend workshops, seminars, conferences, publish research papers in journals to upgrade the knowledge along with regular teaching work.
