Guest lecture on "Insights into Business Intelligence" conducted in the department on 31st August 2017 for Second year students. The session was delivered by Mr. Ranjeet Shekdar, IMS, Pro School, Pune.

Guest lecture on "Coding Techniques on Procedural and Object Oriented Programming Language" conducted in the department on 01st September 2017 for Second year students. The session was delivered by Ms. Sarika Thorat, Business Development Officer, Itrix Computer Services Pvt.Ltd., Pune

Guest lecture on "Context free Grammar" conducted in the department on 18th July 2017 for Third year students. The session was delivered by Mrs.Anuradha A. Puntambekar, Formerly Asst. Professor, P. E. S. Modern College of Engineering, Pune.

Guest lecture on "Computer Forensics" conducted in the department on 6th July 2017 for Third year students. The session was delivered by Prof. Mrs. Priya Shelke,Asst. Professor, Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology,Pune.

 

Events (2016-17)

Workshop on Arduino Programming

Department of Computer Engineering organized one day national level workshop on  “Arduino Programming” dated on 24th March 2017. The perspective of this Workshop is twofold. First is to train the faculty, Ph.D. pursuing, Ph.D. aspirant and Post graduate students from various institutes with an understanding of principal concepts, major issues, technologies, and basic approaches in the area of “Internet of Things and its applications”. The other perspective is to motivate and encourage the research in the area of future internet which is going to be the need of next generation society.

Resource Persons were prof. A. V. Dhumane from Department of Computer Engineering, NBNSSOE and Prof. H. N. Lokhande from Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, NBNSSOE.

 

Workshop on Selenium Testing Tool

Department of Computer Engineering organized one day workshop on  “Selenium Testing Tool” dated on 16th March 2017. The perspective of this workshop was to give the idea about selenium testing tool and how to utilize that knowledge in their respective projects.

The resource person was Rahul Kulkarni from skillup EduTech LLP. Pune.

 

Inaugural Function

Department of Computer Engineering had organized an Inaugural Function for Centre of Excellance “Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics” on 01st April 2017. The Chief Guest for the Inaugural Function was Mr. Sudhakar Kate DySP, Pune. Mr. Anup Girdhar, CEO-Founder of Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, New Delhi, Mrs. Sangeeta Ghumatkar Dy Director,Regional Forensics Lab, Kolhapur, Mr. Rakesh Patil, Branch Manager (Pune) of Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, New Delhi.

The key note speech was delivered by Mr. Sudhakar Kate/Chief Guest. His speech provided an insight to the students regarding the awareness of cyber security. He discussed the case studies of his experience. He also discussed precautions to be follow while doing any social cyber activity. His speech motivated the young students very much.

After this Mr. Anup Giridhar also gave speech. In his speech,  he discussed various case studies related to cyber security. His speech encouraged student a lot to make carieer in cyber forensics.

 

Guest Lecture and Seminar

Department of Computer Engineering organized a seminar on “Awareness about Research Opportunity in National Need and its execution” for faculties of all departments on 5th January 2017.

The speaker for the seminar was Dr. Madhulika Bhati. She is working as a scientist in National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies. She has completed her post doctoral from the University of West of England. She has a vast experience in innovation in emerging technology related to water, energy and environment.  Main objective of the seminar was to orient faculties for current research opportunities. She emphasized on different implementation ideas and ways in which technology will reach to destination.

 

Guest lecture on Guidance for Career Options conducted in the department on 27th February 2017 for Second year and Third year students. The session was delivered by Mr. Manu Abrahim, Director of ICEGATE Institute, Pune.

Guest lecture on OpenMP & CUDA conducted in the department on 20th March 2017 for Third year students. The session was delivered by Ms. Swati B. Bhonde, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Sangamner.

Guest lecture on Introduction to Concurrent YACC conducted in the department on 20th March 2017 for Third year students. The session was delivered by Ms. Kavita U. Rahane, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Sangamner.

Guest lecture on Microprocessor 80386 DX Bus Cycle conducted in the department on 23rd March 2017 for Second year students. The session was delivered by Prof. Mrs. Sheetal Dabhade, Asst. Professor, SKN College of Enginering, Vadgaon (Bk), Pune.

Guest lecture on GD-PI conducted in the department on 29th March 2017 for Final year students. The session was delivered by Mr. Meraj Thomas, Director Academics, Career Launcher, Pune.

 

Department of Computer Engineering organized seminar on "Current Research Current Trends in Computer and Information technology" on 11th January 2017 by Dr. J. R. Prasad for faculties of Computer engineering and Information Technology. She has briefed on various topics like Artificial intelligence and robotics, Big data analytics, Computer-assisted education, Cyber security and Internet of Things

Department of Computer Engineering organized one day Faculty Development Program on “Computer Graphics”, of S.E. (Computer Engineering), 2015 Course in association with Board of Studies (Computer Engineering), Savitribai Phule Pune University on 21st December 2016.

Department of Computer Engineering organized one day Faculty Development Program on “Computer Organization & Architecture”, of S.E. (Computer Engineering), 2015 Course in association with Board of Studies (Computer Engineering), Savitribai Phule Pune University on 24th June 2016.

Also the best practices like Student training program (STP), education overseas, Sinhgad Student Council (SSC) etc. conducted in NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering. The students have been addressed on Training and Placement system of institute.

Guest lecture on Industry Coding Standard conducted in the department on 10th Aug 2016 for second year students. The session was delivered by Mr.Harshad Kashikar, Principal Software Quality Assurance, Symantec Software India Pvt. Ltd., Pune.

Guest lecture on Guidance for CAT Examination conducted in the department on 19th July 2016 for Third year students. The session was delivered by Mr. Llyod Pallikandy, Director, Career launcher, Pune.He guided students how to crack the CAT exam.

 

Guest lecture on Cyber Security conducted in the department on 11th Aug 2016 for Third year students. The session was delivered by Mr.Kaustubh Kumbhar, Manager, Symantec Software India Pvt. Ltd., Pune. He addressed students about the cyber crimes,  security issues while handling social networking sites and  some solutions on them.

 

Guest lecture on Celebrity Management conducted in the department on 14th Sep 2016 for Final year students. The session was delivered by Mr. Akash Afley, Director, Reaping perfections,  Pune.

 

Events (2015-16)

Shriya Limburkar & Hrishikesh Lawhare are student of B.E. Computer Engineering, won 1st prize in Encrypted Quest of Techtonic 2015-16 organized by NBNSSOE.

 

Snehal Ghadge is student of S.E. Computer Engineering, won 1st  prize in MindDoc of Techtonic 2015-16 organized by NBNSSOE.

 

Akash Chikane and Shrikrishna Kulkarni are student of S.E. Computer Engineering, won 2nd prize in GearHead of Techtonic 2015-16 organized by NBNSSOE.

Multi core Programming


The objective of this session was to explore the concept of multi-core architecture, and understand the fundamentals of multi threading. In this session, the discussion was mainly on the switching of programmer’s perspective from the uni-processor era to the multi-core processor. The session also explored the developer’s choice behind obtaining performance through processor upgrades and the micro architecture improvements.

GridSim (Grid Simulation Tool)



Date: 5th & 6th Feb 2014

This workshop was conducted to understand and explore the capabilities of Grid computing. The tool, GridSim, allows modeling and simulation of entities in parallel and distributed computing systems such as users, applications, resources, and resource brokers/schedulers for design and evaluation of scheduling algorithms. The understanding of tool made the participants comfortable to design and develops the algorithm for distributed environment.

Rich Internet Application


A Rich Internet Application (RIA) is a web application that has many of the characteristics of desktop application software, typically delivered by way of a site-specific browser, a browser plug-in, an independent sandbox, extensive use of Javascript, or a virtual machine. The workshop on RIA was a unique type of deliberation on design and development of web applications fro various business domain.

Current Trends in IT

This session was intended to explore the possible modern trends in IT industry specifically in India. India has become an IT brand among the global countries over the years. Our country is having strong base in education, well-established telecommunication & infrastructure facilities and favorable market conditions that prevail the technology. India’s Mainframe market is becoming striking for organizations running Mainframe applications on COBOL systems like finance, insurance, banking etc. The seminar was to understand the current situation of IT in our country and relevant situation in world market.

Event management


Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of festivals, events and conferences. Event management involves studying the intricacies of the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event. Post-event analysis and ensuring a return on investment have become significant drivers for the event industry. All the above ideas were main target of this session.
