Report on Induction Programme (Online) for FE students of 2021-22 batch

(30th December 2021 to 03rd January 2022)

Induction program was conducted for First Year Engineering (FE) students from 30th December 2021 to 03rd January 2022 on Zoom online platform and Microsoft Teams Platform. The aim of the programme was to make students & parents aware about the overall structure of the course as well as the various initiatives taken by the parent organization STES for the overall development of the young minds& various activities carried out by the institute accordingly. Total around 235 students reported along with their parents.  The total strength of audience was around 295. Induction program for first year students is organized to familiarize them to the new environment and encourage them to learn beyond class rooms.

Day1: Thursday, 30th December 2021

Session-1:

  • Inaugural Function

Prof. A. V. Kimbahune started the inaugural session with blessings of Goddess Sarasvati.  Sir welcome all the dignitaries, students and parents.

After the welcome of dignitaries, the HOD Prof. A U Chavdekar addressed the gathering.

Principal’s Address

Dr.S. P. Patil   Principal began his address by sharing information about Sinhgad Technical Education Society & the spread of Sinhgad Institutes in various disciplines. He also shared about Neon, Techtonic and Sinhgad Karandak.

Session-2:

Name of Event: Atmdhyan the Journey within

This session is conducted by Neha bhate and Sayali Mahadik madam. In which they explained about Atmdhyan the Journey within very nicely with the help of different pictures. Atmdhyan means self-knowledge. Atmdhyan is a unique deep meditation through which you can shift your life consciousness from lower dimension to higher dimension.

Session 1

Name of Event: “Next four years: Engineering way”

Event “Next Four Years: Engineering Way” started sharp at 11.00 am on 03/01/2022. Introduction of guest given by Mr R. B. Mali followed by resource person Mr. Niranjan Kale. Session was very useful for students as Mr. Niranjan sir has focused on next four years what students have to do like Learning, Activities, submission, Interviews, Resume etc

 

Session 2

Name of Event: " Power of Habits "

Event “Power of Habits” started sharp at 2.00 pm on 03/01/2022. Introduction of guest given by Mr R. B. Mali followed by resource person Dr Saurabh Chaudhari. Session was very useful for students as Dr Saurabh Chaudhari sir has focused on uncontrolled mind, how to control mind and break bad habits, mental dialogues, freedom of choice etc.

 

Sinhgad Student’s Council

F.E. INDUCTION 2016-17

Induction program was conducted for First Year Engineering (FE) students on 4th and 5th of August 2016. The aim of the programme was to make students & parents aware about the overall structure of the course as well as the various initiatives taken by the parent organization STES for the overall development of the young minds & various activities carried out by the institute accordingly. Total 350 students reported along with their parents.  The total strength of audience was around 900.

The first day started with the registration of students. At the time of registration, students were provided with induction kit consisting of Academic calendar, book & a pen. The entire day function was conducted simultaneously in the seminar Hall of respective departments. All the speeches were video recorded and screened to the parents and the students. Also Principal & F.E Co-ordinator had interactions with the parents present in all the seminar halls. Parents were also able to interact with the HOD’s of respective departments. This was the most fruitful session of the event.

  • Inaugural Function

The Chief Guest for the Inaugural Function was Shree Kaustubh Bhadbhade, Senior Manager, Persistent System Ltd, Pune. Shree Kaustubh Bhadbhade received his schooling and college education in Pune.His graduation was from I.I.T. Bombay in 1981 in Mechanical Engineering. He did his diploma in Business Management from Pune. He has industry experience of 35 years out of which 20 years is in mechanical industries like Bharat Forge, Bajaj Auto, Kalyani Brakes and Kirloskar Brothers where he has dealt with factory management, Purchase, Production, Maintenance, Marketing and ISO certification related areas during that time.He also established and ran an export oriented manufacturing setup near Pune. He has been in the software industry with Persistent for the last 15 years in training and HR. He presently looks after activities and initiatives related to colleges like recruitment, and industry relations. (Please find the Profile enclosed herewith).

The inaugural session started with Saraswati Poojan and lightning of lamp at the hands of Dr. Rajesh. S. Prasad /Principal NBN SSOE, Prof P M Gondkar/ HOD, Engineering Sciences Department, Departmental HOD’s & a parent. Simultaneously students performed Saraswati vandana.

  • Speech by HOD

After the welcome of dignitaries the HOD, Prof. Pawan Gondkar addressed the gathering. The speech included information regarding various activities being conducted for FE students apart from academics especially the Teacher-Guardian (TG) activity & Fire the Fear activity. Parents were made aware about their role in this activity and how this activity helps in maintaining a healthy environment for growth of the students.

  • Felicitation of Toppers

The HOD speech was followed by felicitation of Five Toppers of FE 2014-15 batch at the hands of Chief Guest. The topper of FE Exam May-June 2016 shared their views about the journey towards success & their experiences about the institute.

  • Principal’s Address

Dr. Rajesh. S. Prasad / Principal began his address by sharing information about Sinhgad Technical Education Society & the spread of Sinhgad Institutes in various disciplines. He briefed about the achievements of the institute & expressed his expectations from students as well as parents. He then presented the data of Engineers passing out and hence emphasized on the quality of the learning by the students and then highlighted the activities being carried out by STES to improve this quality.

Key Note Address

The key note speech was delivered by Shree Kaustubh Bhadbhade / Chief Guest. His inspiring speech provided an insight to the students regarding the expectations of industry from the young engineers. He highlighted the importance of good health and hard work. He explained the need of hard work with the help of a small story. He told the students to recognize the time, money and affection put by parents to bring the students to this stage, hence respect them by coming out with flying colours in the area which the are persuing.

  • Vote of Thanks

The function concluded with vote of thanks proposed by staff members of respective departments.

 

ENGINEERING GAMES AND SELF INTRODUCTION

The aim of this activity was to indulge students in games which are related to engineering knowledge.

For example, Sudoku quiz was conducted to improve the logic and mathematical analysis of the students,it develops parallel thinking. This activity improves group discussion ability in students.This helps the students in building their logic in mathematics as well as other subjects related to engineering. Quiz related to aptitude testing was also conducted in order to improve their aptitude and to evaluate their quality of ideas associated with it.

F.E. INDUCTION 2015-16

Induction programme was conducted for First Year Engineering (FE) students on 24th and 25th of July 2015. The aim of the programme was to make students & parents aware about the overall structure of the course as well as the various initiatives taken by the parent organization STES for the overall development of the young minds & various activities carried out by the institute accordingly. Total 394 students reported along with their parents.  The total strength of audience was around 1100.

The first day started with the registration of students. At the time of registration, students were provided with induction kit consisting of folder booklet, Induction CD & a pen. The event was anchored by Mrs. A. S. Kulkarni from Engineering Sciences Department.

  • Inaugural Function

The Chief Guest for the Inaugural Function was Shree Shekhar Kamble, Regional Head- Talent Acquisition Group at Tata Consultancy Services, Pune. Shree Shekhar Kamble has vast experience in the field of human resources, which started from the year 1998 to till date. He started as a Human resource Generalist with TCS and has worked through all stages of HR life cycle/Value Chain. He is certified GPHR and HR professional. His current assignment is in Japan. It is a challenging considering language and cultural barrier. (Please find the Profile enclosed herewith). Shree Shekhar Kamble was accompanied by Shree Suyog Bhandekar – Campus Recruitment Lead at Tata Consultancy Services. He is B.E Electronics and has completed his MBA, Human Resources – MIT School of Business. He started as Location HR with Persistent Systems Limited, Pune.  His current assignment is to sustain all quality institutes in the defined region and attract best talent to join TCS. He briefed about the achievements of the institute & expressed his expectations from students as well as parents. He then presented the data of Engineers passing out and hence emphasized on the quality of the learning by the students and then highlighted the activities being carried out by STES to improve this quality. Finally he introduced Heads of various departments.

  • Training & Placement Cell

The afternoon session was devoted towards informing the parents regarding the training & placement activities carried through the Central Placement Cell- Engineering of Sinhgad Institutes. The session was conducted by Prof. J. N. Pitambare, Dean/ Training & Placements and Abhishek Pandey/ Training and Placement officer NBNSSOE. He enlightened the students about the Role of T & P Cell, Need for Training, Importance of Communication Skills, Value Addition Programs/ Certifications, Eligibility for getting placement into reputed company.

  • Sinhgad Student’s Council

Idea about Sinhgad Student’s Council was presented in front of students and parents by Prof. Mrs. P. P. Kulkarni from Electrical Engg. Department, NBNSSOE. She elucidated the elements of Sinhgad Student’s Council, various clubs, student’s holistic development knowledge sharing and attitude building.

FIRE THE FRAE ACTIVITY 2015-16

FIRE THE FEAR:

The aim of this activity is to remove the fear to interact from the minds of the students. As we all are aware that in today’s world. The mode of interaction can be anything but the important part in an interaction is to present an idea effectively and to make people believe in you.

In order to achieve this, FIRE THE FEAR activity was implemented for the first year students. In this students are expressing themselves in front of the entire class. They are motivated to present an idea in front of the class and then defend it. As this was related to engineering students hence they were instructed to interact in English. This activity helped students to improve in their interaction, presentation and also stage presence.
