About Us

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication has maintained pace with the cutting edge technology through research, tie up with Industries, updated laboratories etc. Department conducts Undergraduate, Post graduate in VLSI and Embedded Systems and Ph. D. programs successfully. Undergraduate program is accredited twice for three and five years by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).  Total 133 students acquired positions in the ranks of University. There are 20 state of art laboratories equipped with advanced equipment set up to fulfill the need of regular academics as well as research in the field of Signal/Image processing, VLSI Design, Embedded systems, Machine intelligence, Communication, Measurements, etc. Department has well-established library other than central library for easy and fast access of books, data sheets, project reports, etc.

Close liaison with Industries through active Industry Institute Interaction Cell (I2IC) inhibited the chasm of technology. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is signed with Actel Inc. USA by developing “Actel Advanced FPGA VLSI Laboratory” worth of INR 12 Million. The agreement signed with ARM-STMicroelectronics has enabled department to establish State of Laboratory of worth resource about Rs. 94 Million. Similarly the laboratories are also established in liaison with Intel-FICE, Cyprus, Texas Instruments, Xilinx, e-Yantra IIT- Bombay, n-Vidia, etc. The number of MoUs signed is more than 30. Huge number of Industry sponsored projects are being carried out by the students and well appreciated by the sponsoring Industries.

Department has received research grants of more than 7 Million from AICTE and Savitribai Phule Pune University till date. These grants accelerated the processes needed for research, procurement of high tech equipment, etc.

Student chapter of esteem IEEE society is functioning to motivate students through various technical events. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer’s Students’ Association (ETESA), Sinhgad Students Council (SSC) and Techtonic have arranged several technical events, expert sessions, workshops etc. Departmental news letter “Quantum” gives the space for innovative ideas and challenges.

The department is on the way to become synonym for Centre of Excellence in and around Pune region. I’m sure about meeting this goal through consistent hard work and perusal.
