1. Who conduct the admission procedure?

The Competent Authority duly appointed by the Government of India and headed by the Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai, carries out the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for the first year diploma in Engineering/Technology aspirants.

4. Is the Institute Government Aided/Funded?

Sou. Venutai Chavan Polytechnic is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, recognized by Government of Maharashtra and Affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai. The Institute does not get any aid from the Government.

5. Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State candidates :

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the SSC examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with minimum 35% marks.

6. Eligibility criteria for Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates :

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed SSC/equivalent examination from any school situated outside Maharashtra State within India with minimum 35% marks.

7. Criteria and procedure to get admission directly to the second year of the Diploma program :

Passed 10+2 examinations with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science

/Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics  Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics / Business Studies/Entrepreneurship (Any of the three),MCVC.

OR

10th + (2 years ITI) shall be eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Course(s) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology.

8. Documents required for admission to Diploma course :

General (Open) Category: Original School/College Leaving Certificate, SSC/HSC Mark Nationality Certificate.

OBC/VJ/DT/NT(A/B/C): Original School/College Leaving Certificate, SSC/HSC Mark-sheet, Nationality Certificate, Caste Certificate, Non-Creamy Layer Certificate of current year.

SC/ST Category: Original School/College Leaving Certificate, SSC/HSC Marksheet, Nationality Certificate, Caste Certificate.

9. Documents required to get Scholarship benefits from Government of Maharashtra :

According to Samaj Kalyan Office, Government of Maharashtra, the following documents are required to avail the Scholarship benefit:

  • SSC Marksheet, Latest school/college Leaving certificate, Caste Certificate, Caste Validity (Not mandatory at the time of admission),Students domicile certificate, Non Creamy Layer (For OBC/VJ/DT/NT(A/B/C)/SBC category), photo copy of first & last page of the Ration Card, CAP -Allotment letter, Aadhaar Card (link with NPCI Portal bank account(Students) & Mobile number).

EBC : SSC Marksheet, Latest school/college Leaving certificate , Students Domicile, Photocopy of first & last page of Ration Card, Tuition fee receipt, Income Certificate(last financial year from the Collector), Unique ID Card, CAP round allotment letter, Aadhaar Card (link with NPCI Portal bank account(Students) & Mobile number).

Minority: SSC Marksheet, Latest school/college leaving certificate, Students Domicile, Income Certificate, Electricity Bill, Income Affidavit, Aadhaar Card (link with NPCI Portal bank account(Students) & Mobile number).

10. Hostel facilities :

  1. Per Candidate :- Cot, Mattress, Pillow, Table, Chair, Cupboard/Open Rack.
  2. Per Room :- Solar Water, 2 Geysers on each floor, 2 Watercooler with aquagurd, Common mirror,Dustbin.
  3. Per Hostel :- Wi-Fi Facility, Common Gas.
  4. ATM In Campus :- Cental Bank of India, Bank Of Baroda, Bank Of India, ICICI.
  5. Bank In Campus :- Cental Bank of India, Bank Of Baroda, Bank Of India.
  6. Cleaning :- Is made by Maids.
  7. Canteens :- Are available in Campus.

On all Sundays, only lunch is available in fees as it is a std. practice in all hostel.

11. Other amenities provided by the Institute :

The institute provides hygienic and conducive environment to the students. Apart from self-contained hostels, there are on the campus - Medical Clinic, Stationery & General Stores, Photocopy Centre, Laundry, Cafeteria & Canteens, ICICI, CBI, BOB, ATM centers(BOI), Banks(BOI), Post Office, Cultural Center, Gym, Cricket ground, Lawn Tennis Court and much more!

15. What are the co-curricular activities for the students?

The major co-curricular activities are as follows:

Industrial visits, Seminars from Eminent speakers and Alumni, Workshops, Paper presentation competitions, Debate competition, Project competition, Technical Quiz Competition and other technical events.

16. What are the extra-curricular activities?

The extra-curricular activities are Navaratri, Ganesh Utsav, Sinhgad Karandak, Sinhgad Sports Karandak, IEDSSA Sports Events , Social activities, Techtonic, Sinhgad student councel and many more.

17. Is there any uniform for the students?

There is no uniform for the students.
