1. What is the admission procedure?

The Competent Authority duly appointed by the Government of India and headed by the Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai, carries out the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for the first year diploma in Engineering/Technology aspirants. .

2. Is the Institute a Government Aided/Funded?

Sou. Venutai Chavan Polytechnic is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, Recognized by Government of Maharashtra and Affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai. The Institute does not get any aid from the Government..

4. What are the eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State candidates?

For all categories - candidate should be an Indian National and passed the SSC examination of Maharashtra State Board & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with minimum 35% marks in aggregate with Science, Technology, Mathematics and English subjects.

Students passing SSC Examination from Maharashtra Secondary/ Higher Secondary Boards from Maharashtra state with General Mathematics (71), General Mathematics at SSC level are not eligible for seeking admission to first year of Engineering and technology Diploma courses.

5. What are the eligibility criteria for Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates?

Candidate should be an Indian National origin and have passed SSC/equivalent examination from any school situated outside Maharashtra State within India with minimum 35% marks in aggregate in all categories in Science & Technology, Mathematics and English subjects.

6. What is the criteria and procedure to get admission directly to the 2nd year of the Diploma program?

As per the norms of D.T.E. Mumbai, 20% seats of the sanctioned intake are available for direct admission to the 2nd year. The student should have passed HSC (Pure Sciences/Technical/Vocational) of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with minimum 35% (aggregate) for all the categories and ITI/MCVC with 60% aggregate.

7. What are the documents required to get admission to Diploma course?

General (Open) Category: Original School/College Leaving Certificate, SSC/HSC Mark-sheet, Nationality Certificate.

OBC/DT/NT(1)/NT(2)/NT(3)/SBC Category: Original School/College Leaving Certificate, SSC/HSC Mark-sheet, Nationality Certificate, Caste Certificate, Non-Creamy Layer Certificate of current year.

SC/ST Category: Original School/College Leaving Certificate, SSC/HSC Mark-sheet, Nationality Certificate, Caste Certificate.

8. What are the documents required to get Scholarship benefits?

According to Samaj Kalyan Office, Government of Maharashtra, the following documents are required to avail the Scholarship benefit:

  • SSC Mark-sheet, Latest school/college Leaving certificate, Caste Certificate, Caste Validity, domicile certificate, Non Creamy Layer (For OBC/SBC/VJ/NT category), Income Certificate and parent's Form No. 16, photo copy of the Ration Card, CAP -Allotment letter, Aadhaar Card.

EBC : SSC Mark-sheet, Latest school/college Leaving certificate ,Domicile, Photocopy of Ration Card, Tuition fee receipt, Income Certificate, Unique ID Card, CAP round allotment letter, Aadhaar Card.

Minority: SSC Mark-sheet, Latest school/college leaving certificate, Domicile, Income Certificate, Electricity Bill, Income Affidavit, Aadhaar Card.

9. What is the fee structure for first, second and third year diploma?

As per Government of Maharashtra norms, students seeking admission under OBC category will pay the 50% of the tuition fees and the development fees as shown above in the table.

SC/ST/NT/VJ/DT/SBC category students have to pay only the Development Fees.

(The above mentioned fee structure is for the academic year 2012-13 only. Every year the final fee structure is decided by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti, Govt. of Maharashtra)

10. Are hostel facilities available?

Hostel facilities are available for girls and boys. Rooms have attached washrooms. The hostel charges are as follows:

11. What are the other amenities provided by the Institute?

The institute provides hygienic and conducive environment to the students. 14. What are the co-curricular activities for the students?

The major co-curricular activities are as follows:

Industrial visits, Seminars from eminent speakers, Paper presentation competitions, Debate competition and Project competition. Students can also participate in state level Paper presentation and Project competition under events like Sparkle, Nirmitee and TechFest.

15. What are the extra-curricular activities?

The extra-curricular activities are gatherings, Navaratri & Ganesh Utsavs, Sinhgad Karandak, IDSSA Sport and many more.

16. Are there any uniforms for the students?
