Summary

Misuse of technology to do any unlawful activity is termed as cyber crime. When Internet was developed, its founding fathers did not have much idea about internet being misused for criminal activities. Today, there are many disturbing things happening in cyberspace.

Due to the anonymous nature of the Internet, it is possible for an individual to engage in a variety of criminal activities with impunity. It is also found that people with intellegence have been grossly misusing this aspect of internet to perpetuate criminal activities in cyberspace.

Summary

The importance of opening of accounts in the banks by the people who are below the poverty line was emphasized. Mr. Pereira also shared his views on the survey carried out in the rural areas in Delhi. He also shared with the audience how he motivated people in the rural areas for better utilization of banks such as availing loan facilities.

Topic - FDI in Retail Opportunities & Challenges

Summary

During this session, the esteemed speaker, discussed about the following important areas i.e. FDI Inflation, GDP, Fiscal Deficit, Gimi Coefficient, etc. He also touched upon different aspects of FDI in various countries. Emphasis was laid on the difference between organized and unorganized retail operations. He also shared his views about the strategy followed by major retailers in the world such as Tesco, Carrefour, Wal-Mart & Bharti.


Industrial Visit


NBN SSOMS organized a one day Industrial Visit at M/s Chitale Milk & Milk Products, Bhilawadi, Sangli on 23rd Sept 2011.

Summary:
M/s Chitale Milk & Milk Products, Bhilawadi, Sangli is 263 Km from Pune. Faculty members from MBA department Prof. Manoj Yawalkar, Prof. Aparna Kulkarni & Prof. Sujata Bolake accompanied the students for the visit.
Industry visit started with brief address by Mr. Girish Chitale & Kedar Chitale on the importance of link between theory & practical knowledge. After which Mr. Mahendale, Mr. Gurav & Mr. Chopade helped our students in understand the various operations of the plant. Students also visited different departments like cattle farm, electronic data centre, raw milk collection, processing, laboratory, cleaning system, quality assurance.

Chowgule Shipping Pvt.Ltd, Pyro Electrical Company, Goa  6th - 10th October 2012.

Summary:
Chowgule Shipping P.ltd is in the business of ship manufacturing for the clients in India, Europe, North America, etc.
Pyro Electrical Company is in the business of producing boiler sensors for oil refineries, chemical industry, and dye industry. Prof. Rajesh Bharate & Prof. Sujata Bolake, accompanied the students for the visit.

NBN SSOMS organized an Industrial Visit to Mapro Foods Pvt. Ltd at Wai, Dist. Satara on 15th March 2013.

Summary:
Mapro Foods Pvt. Ltd manufactures Fruit Jams; Fruit beverage concentrates – Crushes and Squashes; and Fruit Bars. With an annual processing capacity of around 30 thousand MT, Mapro is a market leader in Western India. The company has grown over the last 5 decades with sustained profitability.
Prof. Avinash Ghadage & Prof. Jyoti Howale, Faculty members from MBA department, accompanied the students for the visit. Students had an opportunity to interact with the HR Manager and other employees from different departments of the company.
This visit provided an opportunity to the students for developing insights about organizational functioning and operations, which shall provide a lot of value to the students of MBA first year before they go for their summer internship programs.
