“Strategic management is an ongoing process that evaluates and controls the business and the industries in which the company is involved; assesses its competitors and sets goals and strategies to meet all existing and potential competitors; and then reassesses each strategy annually or quarterly [i.e. regularly] to determine how it has been implemented and whether it has succeeded or needs replacement by a new strategy to meet changed circumstances, new technology, new competitors, a new economic environment., or a new social, financial, or political environment.”

With this thought in mind the event was inaugurated at the hands of  Mr. Shishir Vaidya (Director, Zero and One Media Consultants)  & key note address given by Mr. Sachin Bhide ( Management Consultant, EHAVenture Centre) on 23 Feb.2012.

Mr. Shishir Vaidya discussed his views on “Commercial Enterprise Vs social Enterprise” covering the following points:

  • Indian startup trend getting hotter.
  • Money Vs human well being.
  • Customer needs Vs customer’s concern.
  • Profit Vs purpose.
  • Customer Vs business Pertness.

In the key note address Mr .Sachin Bhide put forth the “Strategic Challenges for Indian IT Companies” throwing light on

  • Phases in the evolution of IT industry in India.
  • Diversification into new geographies & vertical.
  • IT industries impact on export.
  • Pressure on margins.
  • Possibility of reduction in IT budgets.

The plenary sessions comprising paper presentation for three days included papers on theme for general management, marketing, human resources, finance management etc.

The second day of the conference was graced by the presence of Mr. Anand Mahurkar (Director, Inrex)

The third day of the conference had a Case study presentation by the participants. The valedictory keynote was given by Ms. Aditi Sharma (VP Quality & Six  Sigma, India ABO, Cummins India Ltd.) on “Strategic Quality Management.”
