The Department of Management Studies, Sinhgad College of Engineering, Vadgaon, Pune had organized State Level Seminar on Current Trends in Management from 30th Sept 2010 to 1st Oct 2010.
The objectives of the seminar was to make the participants aware about current management trends in industry. It is normally observed that many times the trends in the industry remains with business executives and enterprises. So continuous interaction between industries and academics is essential. The different dimensions like Knowledge Management, World class Manufacturing, Mergers and acquisition , BPOs and KPOs , Retail Management play vital roles. With these objectives in mind the seminar theme was decided as “ Current Trends in Management”
The participants were Management students from different colleges , academicians and industry persons from State of Maharashtra. The project competition based on Management projects was organized. Total 165 participants have attended the seminar.
The first day started by 9.30 with registration and breakfast. The inauguration of seminar was done by Dr. Sanjeeve Kumar, IAS, CEO, ZP , Pune and Mrs. Sarita Paymode, CEO . Later Mr. S. Nagasubramanian, Production Head, RSB Group of companies delivered session on the topic “ Corporate Governance”. The next session found enthusiastic participation from management student for project competition. . In the afternoon session Mr. Vivek Phadake enlightened the participants on the topic “ Psychometric for managers” and Mrs. Chavan from SCOE had given inputs on “World Class Manufacturing”.
The second day began with the interactive session on “Current Trends in HR” by Mr. Bapat. The later session was informative session by Mr. Mahajan from Arthboth briefing the participants about “Current trends in Finance”. After the lunch Speakers from Mumbai Dabbawala gave total view and experience about the functioning of Dabbawala organization indirectly following the concept of “Six Sigma in the organization”.
The participants and the winner of the project competition were awarded with the certificates and cash prizes in Valedictory function by Mr. Shyam Keswani, Retd. VP , Sandwik Asia Pvt. Ltd.
Over all the State Level Seminar on Current Trends in Management was a great success.
