Vidyasagar Daud wins competition to name exoplanet Santamasa.

Thirteen year old Vidyasagar Daud has become one of the two students in the country whose entry has won at the International Astronomical Union exoplanet-host star naming competition.

The NameExoWorlds Steering Committee had assigned a star-planet system, with the star HD 86081, to India. Vidyasagar, a student of Sinhgad Spring Dale Public School, submitted the winning name ‘Santamasa’ for the exoplanet.
