Today, risk-taking characteristics have improved, especially among the youth. It is good for the Indian economy and for a country that is trying to shift from a developing one to a developed one. Sinhgad Institutes are geared up to encourage self-employment in all spheres for student start-ups. We have started the process of promoting and strengthening entrepreneurship amongst Science and Technology target groups across our resourceful campuses by organizing entrepreneurship awareness camps to foster skill development. We are also mapping our resources best to kick off Entrepreneurship Development Cell to assist students and qualified people to perform technical and financial feasibility studies for checking viability of their ideas to start-ups, and also to lend a hand to them for preparing bankable projects in the right format.
Under this program, we endeavor to provide students with wings and worth mentoring by ial expertise. This will be complemented by well thought-out camp on topics related to entrepreneurship awareness and the experienced speakers to help start-ups to a different level. The response we have received so far for the camp has been amazing. Around 1800 students have been benefited by the programs.
Pertaining to the promotion of entrepreneurial activities, STES has signed MoU with DeAsra Foundation. DeAsra's mission is to generate 1,00,000 jobs in the next five years, (2015 to 2020) by facilitating the creation of 25000 enterprises grouped into 250 Business types, with 100 Businesses of each type, each employing an average of 4 people per Business.
We are committed for transformation in the Indian Economy by offering a readymade platform to students and spearheading the entrepreneurship movement that leads to Future India capacity building. We are confident that the ‘Make in India’ dream will surely come true!
