At a grand ceremony held at AICTE Headquarters New Delhi, presided over by Dr Satya Pal Singh, Minister of State (MHRD), Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, AICTE Chairman, and other esteemed dignitaries from AICTE, Sinhgad Institutes of Management was awarded First Position – Best Internship Selection Rate in West Zone by AICTE & Internshala.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in association with India's leading internship and training platform, Internshala, together conducted Internship Day Ceremony to felicitate colleges with the best internship record. The event is meant to acknowledge the colleges who have made remarkable efforts in helping their students secure internships during the months of April – July. The event was held on 25th August 2018 at AICTE Headquarters in New Delhi.

AICTE is working to improve the employability of students and has mandated internships for all the students enrolled in AICTE approved academic institutions. To make internships popular among the student and the college communities and to acknowledge the colleges putting significant efforts to help their students, AICTE along with Internshala, conducted the event to duly recognize the good performing colleges.

Internshala is lndia's largest internship platform founded in the year 2010 by Sarvesh Agrawal, the founder and CEO. Internshala provides internship and training opportunities to over 2.5 million students registered with it. Students can find internships in a diverse range of fields including engineering, management, applied arts, science, law, design, hotel management, architecture, and so forth. It is used by 40,000+ organizations offering 4 lac+ internships every year. Internshala is incorporated as Scholiverse Educare Pvt Ltd with its registered office at 8-809, Unitech Business Zone, South City-Z, Gurugram, Haryana.

The event was attended by Dr Satya Pal Singh, Minister of State (MHRD), Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, AICTE Chairman, and other esteemed dignitaries from AICTE along with 170 Training and Placement heads from AICTE-affiliated colleges all over India.

The event was organised to honour and acknowledge the colleges who have made remarkable efforts in helping their students secure internships during the months of April - July. 8100 students from AICTE-affiliated colleges landed an internship through Internshala in the summer of 2018.

Sinhgad Institute of Management was awarded Best Internship Selection Rate (West Zone) - 1st Position and has been ranked #25 out of the 1574 colleges who participated in Internship Day.

The award was received by Shubra Tiwari a 2018 pass out student, Alumnus of Sinhgad Institute of Management at event presided over by Dr Satya Pal Singh, Minister of State (MHRD), Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, AICTE Chairman, and other esteemed dignitaries from AICTE.
